Come honor and celebrate the lives of those that came before us, welcoming back the souls of our deceased loved ones for one night, on el dia de Los Muertos. Join Robyn Melvin and Kat Baum as they weave together a ceremony to honor the Gaelic festival of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of the ?darker half? of the year. Irish mythology says that Samhain was a time when doorways to the Otherworld opened, allowing supernatural beings and souls of the dead to come into our world. Mythology also tells the story of heroes facing great enemies and oppressors, and defeating them against all odds. This Ceremony will give us the opportunity to do the same?face our biggest fears, challenges, and inner demons?and conquer them all together!
This four-class series will cover the history and the fundamental aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. This powerful approach is based on a specialized sequencing of postures and focused breathing techniques. The first three sessions will be spent breaking down postures (asanas) and practicing vinyasas; skillfully working up to the fourth class where we pull it all together and work through the entire primary series. Total workshop time will be 6 hours: Session 1 (90 mins)- Ashtanga basics and asana practice. November 6 from 3-4:30 PM. Session 2 (75 mins)- Asana practice. November 13 from 3-4:15 PM. Session 3 (75 mins)- Asana practice. November 20 from 3-4:15 PM. Session 4 (120 mins)- Primary Series. November 27 from 3-5 PM. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions in order to get the most benefit from the workshop. However, individual sessions are available if that works better for you. Students that enroll for all sessions will receive a full color Primary Series poster (100 poses) as a learning aid for their practice.
