Deadwood History will host a progressive play titled, You Ain’t Heard Nothin’ Yet: Deadwood! on September 5 and 6, 2015. The three act play will travel from the Historic Adams House to the Days of ‘76 Museum and conclude at the Adams Museum. Performances are at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for members, $20 for non-members. Reservations are required; please call 605-722-4800.
You Ain’t Heard Nothin’ Yet: Deadwood! is an original play set in 1920s Deadwood. The play examines the beginning of Deadwood’s long and intertwined relationship with economic development and historic preservation, and shows how this important relationship began with the creation of the Days of ‘76 celebration and was solidified with the opening of the Adams Museum.
Refreshments will be served following the third act at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC). Free trolley rides for play goers will be available at the HARCC at 10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Free parking is available in the HARCC and the Sherman Street parking lots.
The play is co-sponsored by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, Deadwood History, Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, South Dakota Arts Council (funding from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and State Development and National Endowment for the Arts), TDG Communications, South Dakota Community Foundation, Black Hills Corporation and M.S.
