The Historic Homestake Opera House Open Auditions: 2016 Gold Camp Players Children’s Plays' OPEN AUDITIONS for the 2016 Gold Camp Players Children’s Plays Wednesday, September 7th at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. At the Historic Homestake Opera House, 313 W. Main Street, Lead. Roles are open to all community youth ages 6 to 14. Auditions for TWO SHOWS: “AFTER HOURS” All is quiet on the storefront as the owner of a small clothes shop locks up for the night. Little does she know that when the lights go out, activity in her store really picks up! Two lively mannequins have been waiting all day for a chance to loosen up. When they discover another mannequin mistakenly delivered crate, the night really gets interesting! There are bungling burglars, window shoppers, and a near sighted night watchman who add to the fun and suspense. AND “CHARMING”: Once upon a time, the Wicked Stepmothers’ Association tried to get rid of all the frogs, but one frog escaped and became Prince Charming. To the stepmothers’ dismay, he continuously rescues each of the queen’s daughters from all the perils that come with being princesses. Furious the stepmothers want to cast a sleeping spell on the prince, but he first must wish he was a frog again. In a hysterical twist the stepmothers devise so many princesses and others who need rescuing that poor Prince Charming feels like he’s in a decathlon!
