The show consists of a large art installation created with the participation of various groups in the Spearfish community. The opening reception will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, Mar. 4 in the art gallery. It will continue to run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturdays, until Mar. 31. The event is free and open to the public.
The March exhibit will include, “A Graphic Novel from the Ground Up,” a collective project that moves through the creative process of making a graphic novel. This project consists of artists from Black Hills State University, Creekside Elementary, Spearfish High School, and within the community. The exhibit will include, “Wall Jewelry,” created by residents at the Canyon Hills Youth Center. Finally, the project titled, “Treasured: A Community Collective on Value,” will be on display. This project explores themes and opinions around the idea of value and what makes an item valuable.
