Description
Suicidal thoughts are common. Suicide threats and attempts are less common, but more frequent than you may realize. South Dakota had the 7th highest suicide death rate in 2021. Just as people trained in CPR and Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, QPR is an innovative, practical and proven method for suicide prevention that anyone can learn to save the life of a family member, friend, or neighbor. Participants will be able to recognize the warning signs and clues of people in trouble, and gain skills to act quickly to prevent a possible tragedy through learning how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone to help. QPR offers hope through positive action, and hope saves lives. Suicide Awareness Training Tuesday, August 27 at 10AM. This presentation is offered by the Lawrence County Coalition, and is FREE and open to the public. Training will take place at the Spearfish Senior Center located 1306 N 10th St, Spearfish, SD 57783. Participants are required to register as space is limited. Please register by stopping in or calling the Senior Center at 605-642-2827, or using the QR code on the flyer.
