Description
Six Mile Road Band - Bluegrass/Country Rock Concert Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 pm $20 Adults, $15 Members, $10 students (college/high school ID), $5 (13 and younger). Six Mile Road began their acoustic journey in the winter of 1998 when Trappor Mason (banjo), Dan Cross (mandolin, vocals), and Jake Jackson (guitar, fiddle, vocals) met for jam outside of Deadwood, SD. Soon after, they began practicing regularly as Six Mile Road at a little cabin in Spearfish Canyon where Trappor was living at the time. Over the last 18 years, Six Mile Road has played hundreds of bluegrass shows around the Black Hills region. Their playing style is best described as hard driving, Bluegrass, Jamgrass, and Americana. They’ve shared the stage and opened for some of the best Bluegrass bands in the country included the Gibson Brothers, Special Consensus, and Keller Williams and the Travlin McCoury’s. The current lineup for Six Mile Road includes Jake Jackson (guitar, vocals), Trappor Mason (banjo), Dan Cross (Mandolin, vocals), Mike Brennen (bass), and Ben Lemay (fiddle). Proceeds benefit ongoing operations, programming, and projects at the Historic Homestake Opera House. Free off-street and free lot parking is available all within 3 blocks of the building. The building is accessible for wheelchairs. The HHOH Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to returning Lead’s Historic Opera House to productive use for the enrichment of the community and to provide cultural opportunities for generations to come. Support for the HHOH is provided in part by the City of Lead, and the Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, Mary Adams Mastrovich. The HHOH is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
