Denni Bengston, Senia Borg and Megan Breitag all survived sexual assault in high school or college. Hear from them as they share their stories on dealing with sexual assault and how they were able to recover and go on to raise awareness on the issue.
A bit about the speakers:
Denni Bengtson was born & raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. She currently attends college at Miami University of Ohio majoring in political science. Her story started five and a half years ago when she was a sophomore in high school. She is now 20 years old and looking to help and inspire young people just like me.
Senia Borg grew up in the small town of Howard, SD where she was raped by a former boyfriend in March 2007. Over a year later, suffering from PTSD, she sought out help while attending college in Minnesota. She credits a survivor group with saving her life and becoming a strong advocate for fellow survivors. Senia has shared her story and helped plan many events to shed light on sexual assault in rural America. In recent years, she married her husband Zach and they have a shihpoo Emma and a son Dean. They reside in Sioux Falls, SD where she works in digital marketing.
Megan Breitag is 28 years old and lives in Sioux Falls, SD. Her story began 4 years ago on March 10th, 2017 when she was raped. Megan is honored to share her story in order to help others through their experiences. She has a bachelors degree in Leadership and Public Service with a Minor in History, a concentration in legal studies and an emphasis in philosophy. She is currently a Program Supervisor at Lutheran Social Services Childcare and Education, where she runs the After School & Summer Program.
