Deadwood History will host a Kids Summer Recreation Fair on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The fair is free and open to the public.
Children and their parents will learn what recreational activities are available in the area this summer to keep your child occupied, engaged, and active. Representatives from a variety of organizations will be on hand to explain the camps, workshops, and classes they have to offer children. The fair is designed to be a one-stop shopping experience for parents to learn more about the unique, interesting, and fun recreational activities kids can take advantage of in the local area. The fair will help parents make informed decisions for their child during the summer months.
Participating organizations include Deadwood History, Inc., Tri-State Museum, Phoebe Apperson Hearst Library, Deadwood Public Library, Spearfish Soccer, Butte/Lawrence County 4-H, Black Hills Football Lead-Deadwood 49ers, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Black Hills, Northern Hills Alliance for Children, Deadwood Recreation Center, Spearfish Recreation and Aquatic Center, and the Boy Scouts.
The fair is co-sponsored by Deadwood History, the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, and the Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation.
