Description
On Thanksgiving weekend, the Historic Homestake Opera House (HHOH) will bring the comedy/drama “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol” by Tom Mula to the Northern Hills, this time as a one-man performance by South Dakota actor Rick Losey. Show dates are November 27-29, 2015 at the HHOH theater located at 313 W. Main Street in Lead.
“Marley experiences a miraculous, life-changing journey,” says Losey, of Miller, SD, about the show. “He shows us there’s always potential for change in us – no matter who you are.” This is a funny, but deeply moving story of Jacob Marley (played by Losey) and his heroic behind-the-scenes efforts to save old Scrooge’s soul – from the jaws of death to the mouth of hell and beyond. This is the “real” story behind Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Jacob Marley goes on a hilarious journey and in the process, saves his own soul. This irreverent, and ultimately, inspiring story retells Dickens’ classic in a different way with infectious zest. This thrilling performance is sure to become a holiday classic for generations to come.
“Delectably zany… inspired theatre… gives the audience cause to ache, and to laugh, and in the end, to exalt.” – Cincinnati’s Citybeat
Friday and Saturday evening show starts at 7:00 pm and the Sunday matinee starts at 2:00 pm. The show is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. This show is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for young children.
