Lead to host award-winning international choir STUDIUM LEAD, SD - Studium, an award-winning international choir from Lithuania’s Siauliai University will perform. The concert is in collaboration with University of Nebraska at Omaha performing arts program. Studium provides a wide variety of the best hits from well-loved repertoire, including World Classic music and today’s pop music.
Studium has formed a strong union partaking in concerts, trips, Lithuanian song and dance celebrations, Gaudeamus Dance Festival, as well as many other student festivals and competitions and has performed concerts in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Belgium, and USA. The Studium have also performed with Siauliai Chamber Orchestra, Siauliai Big Band, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Choir of University of Nebraska at Omaha. Studium has won international choir competitions in Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Saint Petersburg, Czech Republic. In May of 2014 the choir celebrated its 40th anniversary and recorded a CD titled Studium 40 and also participated in the international musical project “Among Friends” singing in one of the most famous scenes in the world in Mariinsky Theatre, in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Doors open one hour prior to showtime. Beer, wine, soda, and water will be available for purchase. Free off-street and free lot parking is available all within 3 blocks of the building. The building is accessible for wheelchairs. The HHOH Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to returning Lead’s Historic Opera House to productive use for the enrichment of the community and to provide cultural opportunities for generations to come. Programming support is provided in part by annual memberships, the Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, and the City of Lead.
