Description
In this Drama-Concert husband and wife singer/actor Charles Farruggia and pianist, Kathryn Mientka has created a heart-wrenching journey through music and drama that explores the tragic years of the Civil War. Charles performs roles of both Union and Confederate soldiers, depicting the heartbreak and longing for home. He sings beloved songs of the Civil War era, including Shenandoah, Home Sweet Home and Jonny Comes Marching Home. Kathryn depicts the loved ones left behind with piano solos by Gottschalk, Schuman, and Liszt, and others.
Home Sweet Home reminds us of what it means to be free, what it takes to ensure our future as free Americans, and gives new significance to the American Dream.
