LEAD, SD - The Historic Homestake Opera House invites the public to attend a different type of fundraiser that showcases the 102-year-old building in its entirety on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm at the Historic Homestake Opera House at 313 West Main Street, Lead. Relax from routine and treat your senses by enjoying wine tastings by Cask & Cork, beer tastings courtesy of Crow Peak Brewery, mocktails (non-alcoholic beverages) and fine hors d?oeuvres by Cheyenne Crossing of Lead. Live music will be performed throughout the evening such as classical, operettas, folk, jazz, and bluegrass by various musicians including BHSU Nancy Roberts, Lead; Sarah Carlson, Lead; Bob Pearson, Gillette, WY, Nicole Darragh, Denver, CO; Rick Erb, Gillette, WY; Kate Baum-Fjelstad, Sturgis; and Janeen Larsen, Gary Renner, and Christopher Hahn jazz trio, Spearfish, SD; Artuments (artistically altered musical instruments) will be on display for silent and live auction, recreated by fine artists Angela Marie, Rapid City; Bill Feterl, Lead, SD; Jodene Shaw, Sturgis; and Irene Daly, Gillette, WY. "We hope to share our passion for the Opera House with you,"says co-organizer Spencer Rossi. "It's a place where time stops, beauty presides and memories are made." Taste, touch, hear and see the beauty at the Historic Homestake Opera House. Dress code is business casual. Tickets are $35, and are available only by reservation. Proceeds benefit ongoing operations, programming, and projects at the Historic Homestake Opera House. Free parking is available in the back of the building, and also free off-street and lot parking within 3 blocks or less from the theater. The building is wheelchair accessible.
