Dr. David Wolff Presents:
“Stories of Black Hills Mining Companies:
Successes, Failures and Frauds”
This presentation will briefly examine eight mining companies that operated in the northern Black Hills during the late 19th century, discussing how some succeeded and why others failed. It will also look at how a few companies used fraud to separate unsuspecting investors from their money. In the process the talk will give an overview of early Black Hills mining ventures.
