City Spring Clean Up

Description
Spearfish and Lawrence County residents are encouraged to take part in the upcoming cleanup weekend. The Spearfish RUS will be waiving fees for residential disposal and City crews will offer free pick up services for city residential customers needing to dispose of large items.
The RUS is located 1 ½ miles north of Interstate 90’s Exit 10 off Highway 85 on Camp Comfort Road and will be open free of charge from 9am to 5pm on the above listed dates.
Items accepted at the RUS: Trees, leaves, grass clippings, construction materials, metal, iron, appliances, batteries, furniture, carpet and mattresses/box springs. Tires without rims and appliances which use Freon will be accepted for a fee. Lawn mowers, weed eaters and any other gas/diesel powered item need to be completely drained of all fluids (fuel and oil) before being accepted at the RUS.
Items not accepted: household garbage, paper, plastic, clothing, asbestos, chemicals and hazardous or toxic wastes.
Pick up Services: Thursday and Friday of the above dates. Disposal of large items, including appliances (that do not use Freon), will be available by calling Public Works at 642-1333, beginning April 5th. You MUST call in to have items picked up. Calls will be accepted until 12:00pm on April 19th. Free pick up does not apply to commercial accounts.
