This popular annual Christmas time event is a favorite among Northern Hills residents and visitors alike. The oldest event of its kind in the Black Hills, this year's event will feature beautifully decorated artificial trees and artificial wreaths, holiday music, live auction items and VINTAGE: wine or wine-themed items or antique unique decor items.
The Historic Homestake Opera House is seeking Northern Hills community members and corporate organizations that want to get creative in supporting the event. There will be 10 artificial trees and 10 wreaths that will be transformed into a reflection of talents and themes on display for the public to enjoy - that makes the annual Festival of Trees so special. The PEOPLE'S CHOICE award goes to the most beautifully-designed tree, wreath or item, voted in by the public.
To register, or reserve YOUR tree, wreath, or item to decorate, call 605-584-2067. Admission is by donation, or by bringing a non-perishable food item for the Lord?s Cupboard Food Pantry, and also pet food for the Twin City Animal Shelter. Donations and proceeds from the Festival of Trees will benefit operations at the Historic Homestake Opera House. The Historic Homestake Opera House Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to returning Lead's Historic Opera House to productive use for the enrichment of the community and to provide educational and cultural opportunities for generations to come.
