Paul Horsted’s talk is based on two books he co-authored on the 1874 Black Hills “Custer” Expedition: “Exploring with Custer” and “Crossing the Plains with Custer”. Paul’s program will compare the first photos ever taken in the Black Hills (in 1874) with his matching images of the same places today. He’ll also share discoveries he and his co-authors made while mapping Custer’s trail from Ft. Lincoln, hundreds of miles across the plains and through the Black Hills, to their gold discovery camp on French Creek. The program is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome.
