SUMMARY:The Story of Belle of the Ball
DESCRIPTION:Join the Termesphere Gallery for The Story of Belle of the Ball. \n\n\n\nThis Termesphere plays with the history of Belle Fourche\, South Dakota. It begins with Seth Bullock\, his partner Sol Star and his wife Martha Bullock. Out of the eye of Seth Bullock comes the vision of what Belle Fourche will become. \n\n\n\nBullock donated some of his ranch to the railroad so it would eventually come through what is now Belle Fourche\, rather than to Minnesela\, a sister town three miles from Belle Fourche. Minnesela\, who was sure it was going to get the railroad\, is in this painting as well. When the decision was made to go through Belle Fourche instead\, it was the end of the town of Minnesela. \n\n\n\nMany images of the early town of Belle Fourche are in this piece. Including\, buildings from the past\, the rodeo\, cattle and sheep businesses\, the beautiful forks of the Belle Fourche River and Red Water River coming together. The center of the nation is on the bottom of the sphere as well as many images hidden throughout the piece.\n\n\n\nThe patterns from Seth Bullock's vision move across the sphere and come back together on the other side. Two young children are onthatback side\, coming from inside the sphere and opening up the patterns as if they were peeling an orange. Portraying that they\, the children\, will reform the future of Belle Fourche.\n\n\n\nThere will be a presentation explaining the nature of the piece from Dick Termes. Refreshments will be served. \n\n \nWe are certainly looking forward to it and we hope you are too!
