June 10 is the 150th anniversary of the day Congress authorized the National Fish Hatchery System\, of which the D.C. Booth is a part of and this is a celebration of the milestone! Bring in any outgoing mail with first class postage to be stamped and mailed\, or send a letter in a special commemorative envelope with information about the first ever national fish hatchery\, available for $5 (postage included). A Pictorial Cancellation is a postmark\, which shows replica / photo / design or a picture highlighting a tourist\, religious\, historical or an important place or thing. Ours shows the historic fish hatchery logo of a fish. Funds raised will go to the Booth Society\, the friends group of the fish hatchery.
