\n\nWell-known fiddler Kenny Putnam\, a two-time South Dakota Fiddle Champ\, began touring and recording with the Red Willow Band in 1975. He was invited by the Smithsonian Institution in 1975 and 1976 to participate in the Festival of American Folklife\, demonstrating violin-making and playing. Putnam toured and recorded with Roy Clark for over seven years\, appearing on \;The Grand Ol'\; Opry\, \;The \;TonightShow\, \;Hee Haw \;regularly\, and many other programs. He performed in 48 states\, Canada\, Bulgaria\, and Russia. Putnam has performed on stages worldwide\, including the JFK Center for the Performing Arts\, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas\, and the Oktober Hall in Leningrad.
\n\nSinger/songwriter Boyd Bristow is another long-time member of A South Dakota Acoustic Christmas. Boyd has played with Blueberry Buckle\, the Red Willow Band\, and internationally with Vince Two Eagles. Besides being a star instrumentalist\, Bristow is a terrific singer\, composer\, and responsible for the production on many CD recordings including his own on the Maxine Audiophile label. \;
\n\nHailing from the Great Plains of eastern South Dakota\, \;singer/songwriter Jami Lynn began performing folk and bluegrass music at the age of thirteen. After high school\, she attended the University of South Dakota majoring in vocal performance. \;Jami Lynn brought her folk\, jazz\, \;and blues to audiences throughout the Pacific Northwest and Midwest United States. \;When not performing for public audiences\, Lynn also brings folk music to elementary students and hospital systems through the South Dakota State Arts Council&rsquo\;s Artists in the Schools program and Touring Artists program. She has also shared the stage with legendary folk singer Spider John Koerner\, Gillian Welch\, The Wood Brothers\, Jolie Holland\, Mason Jennings\, Trampled by Turtles\, Charlie Parr\, Chatham County Line\, The Pines\, Special Consensus\, and claw-grass great Mark Johnson. Lynn is currently based out of Spearfish.
\n\nThe concert is co-sponsored by the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission\, Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation\, Deadwood History\, South Dakota Arts Council (funding from the State of South Dakota\, through the Department of Tourism and State Development and National Endowment for the Arts)\, and the Historic Homestake Opera House. \;
