DESCRIPTION:The National Players are back in Spearfish for the third year in a row giving us amazing productions by William Shakespeare.\n\n\n\nThe same actors perform 2 days earlier in "Alice in Wonderland" (see separate event listing).\n\n\n\nThis classic tale of identity\, bigotry\, and deceit is examined with contemporary clarity\, combining Shakespeare's language with modern clothing to transform the drama into a powerful story for America today.\n\n\n\nOthello is a celebrated general returning home from the wars\, but his dark skin and foreign origin inspire hatred from several people\, especially the man he trusts most: Lago. As Lago twists Othello's love for his wife Desdemona\, everyone becomes pawns in Iago's devious plots.\n\n\n\nLast year they performed "Hamlet" to a soldout house. Cool\, huh. \n\n\n\nTickets are getting scarce. Don't wait.
