At that time\, Black Hills Teachers College (BHSU today) was home to the 93rd Army Air Forces College Training Detachment. Cadets from across the United States were stationed on campus to earn college credits that made them eligible to become Army officers\, and they learned rudiments of aviation at Spearfish's airport. Terry Neil King\, son of the 93rd's original Adjutant\, is donating the detachment's official records and photographs to BHSU's Case Library. He and Paul Higbee will discuss stories of the 1\,100 cadets stationed here in 1943 and 1944\, and also how these records will likely lead to more detachment research in coming years.
